Know-how from CEUTP re-used in TAIEX
TAIEX is one of the European Union’s flagship development cooperation programmes aimed at reforming public administration. A training course was held on 02-04/05/2023 as part of the TAIEX-REGIO project to support the Managing Authority (Ministry of Transport and Communications in Bulgaria) in updating anti-fraud policies and procedures.
The meeting of experts from Poland (Centre for EU Transport Projects), Latvia (Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia), Bulgaria (Ministry of Transport and Communications) and Croatia (Agency For The Audit of European Unions Programmes Implementation System), was an opportunity to share knowledge and experience on: legislation, the organisational framework and recent challenges, related to national funds, under shared management and the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RFF) in the context of anti-corruption activities.
The topic of anti-fraud policies, detection of conflicts of interest, including procedures for prevention and detection of conflicts of interest in public procurement, was also addressed.
The risks were analysed in the context of the Operational Programme: Transport and Transport Infrastructure, implemented in Bulgaria, and the challenges of implementing the DNSH (“Do No Significant Harm”) rule.
This event was another opportunity for CEUTP experts to share their know-how. This time, the Centre for EU Transport Projects was represented by Przemysław Ostrowski from the Control and Audit Department.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Polish experts take part in around 70-100 TAIEX activities every year. This places our country at the end of the top ten most active EU countries. The National Contact Point in the Development Cooperation Department of the MFA is responsible for coordinating TAIEX in Poland.
