Visit of the Albanian delegation to CEUTP – Exchange of experiences in transport investment implementation

The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences in managing EU funds in the transport sector in Poland and to discuss various topics related to the development of transport infrastructure in Albania.

The Albanian delegation included:

  • Ms. Zamira Tutulani – Head of Road Transport Policy Unit, Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy,
  • Ms. Ela Ishka – Expert in Maritime Transport Policy, Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy,
  • Mr. Arben Muha – Expert in Railway Transport Policy, Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy,
  • Mr. Ani Verzivolli – Expert, Durres Port Authority,
  • Ms. Adela Hajdari – Head of Cabinet, Albanian Civil Aviation Agency.

The meeting was also attended by analysts from the Centre for Eastern Studies, the host of the Albanian delegation’s visit to Poland: Ms. Paulina Wankiewicz and Ms. Sandra Baniak.

During the meeting, CEUTP’s scope of activities and its institutional environment were presented. In their presentations, Krzysztof Rodziewicz and Karolina Ptaszyńska, representing the Department of Transport Analyses, focused on various aspects of transport infrastructure development in Poland and examples of projects co-financed by EU funds. They also highlighted the growing importance of twinning projects within bilateral cooperation, which CEUTP has carried out in countries such as Albania, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.

In discussions with the Albanian guests, additional topics were covered, including the roles and activities of intermediary institutions or those performing similar functions to CEUTP within the EU, as well as the current system for financing transport projects in Poland based on European funds. CEUTP’s activities, such as project management, support in preparing funding applications, and overseeing investments carried out by beneficiaries, were also discussed.

The meeting fostered the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Polish and Albanian experts, which may contribute to the realization of potential joint ventures in the field of transport in the future.
