CEUTP shares its experience from the implementation of a Twinning project in Azerbaijan

On March 25, 2025, the Centre for EU Transport Projects (CUPT) hosted the first in a series of specialized Twinning trainings, organized by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event was attended by representatives of public administration institutions — both those already involved in the implementation of Twinning projects and those preparing to engage in them.

The training had an expert and workshop-oriented format. CUPT shared its experience gained during the implementation of the Twinning project in Azerbaijan, in which it acted as the lead partner.

We presented, among others, good practices in the following areas:

  • cost settlement and financial reporting in line with the requirements of the European Commission,
  • cooperation with the public administration of the beneficiary country,
  • the role of the Resident Twinning Adviser (RTA) and communication with the EU Delegation,
  • practical aspects of implementing and monitoring the progress of project components,
  • reporting and auditing.

The meeting was also an opportunity for participants to talk directly to CEUTP representatives from various departments – accounting, human resources and project management – which allowed participants to gain a practical insight into the operation of the project ‘behind the scenes’.

We sincerely thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the opportunity to share our experience, as well as all participants for their active engagement and inspiring discussion.
