Call for proposals for CEF Transport 2026 has begun – 1.1 billion euros
The European Commission, through CINEA, has announced a call for proposals under the “Connecting Europe” program (CEF) – Transport 2026. The call’s budget is 1.1 billion euros and will be allocated to the construction and modernization of transportation infrastructurein the European Union and in associated countries.
Funding will be available for projects that contribute to the completion and modernization of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The purpose of this call for proposals is to support investments that strengthen sustainable, smart, interoperable, and resilient mobility in Europe. In addition, the implementation of these projects is intended to contribute to the EU’s goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
Scope of Recruitment
The CEF Transport 2026 call for proposals covers projects implemented on the TEN-T network in accordance with the TEN-T Regulation (EU) 2024/1679. Funding is available in the following areas:
- dual-use transportation infrastructure
- railway projects on the TEN-T core network
- Inland waterways on the TEN-T core network
- rail connections between the TEN-T network and neighboring countries (outside the EU)
- New Technologies and Innovations – The Digitalization of Road Transport
- alternative fuel infrastructure for road transport
- European Maritime Space – OPS and ferries.
Budget and Structure of the Competition
The CINEA website indicates that the call’s budget has been divided among several thematic components, including, among others, core network projects, the cohesion pool, military mobility, sustainable and multimodal mobility, safe and resilient mobility, the digitization of road transport, and alternative fuel infrastructure.

Application Deadline
Applications must be submitted electronically via Funding & Tenders Portal. The deadline for submissions is October 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. (CEST/Brussels time).
Info Day for Applicants
CINEA and DG MOVE are organizing an online information session on June 24, 2026, dedicated to the CEF Transport 2026 call for proposals. The event will provide an opportunity to learn about the call’s priorities, the application procedure, evaluation criteria, and practical tips for preparing a proposal. The program also includes separate segments dedicated to, among other topics, military mobility, railways, inland waterways, the EU’s external borders, the digitization of road transport, and alternative fuel infrastructure.

Who can apply
According to information published by CINEA, proposals may be submitted by , among others , one or more Member States, international organizations, and public and private entities established in EU Member States or in countries associated with the CEF, namely Ukraine and Moldova. CINEA also notes that interested applicants should contact their national CEF Transport contact points to obtain prior approval for their proposals.

Study Visit TAIEX at CUPT: Montenegro Learns from Polish CEF Experience

The Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy announced the end of the CEF AFIF 2024 (Connecting Europe Facility – Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Facility 2024) call for proposals.
