TAIEX-REGIO expert meeting on audit topics
An online expert mission was held from April 2-4, 2024, with the Ministry of Finance of Latvia as the main organizer. The initiative, which took place within the framework of TAIEX-REGIO, aimed to discuss audit challenges for 2021-2027 in the context of public procurement, risk-based verification (RBMV) and the practical application of the Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) principle. CEUTP experts have been appearing in this format for several years now, sharing their know-how in various fields.
The meeting was attended by experts from Poland, Bulgaria and Croatia, representing, in turn, the Center for EU Transport Projects (Poland), the Executive Agency Audit of European Union Funds (Bulgaria) and the Agency for the Audit of European Union Programmes Implementation Systems (Croatia). During the sessions, experts shared their experiences and best practices related to risk management and the application of the DNSH principle. The sessions included practical examples and legal analysis, including on contract modifications in public procurement and green procurement.
The meeting was aimed not only at sharing knowledge, but also at presenting the proven tools and experience necessary to operate effectively in the dynamic public audit environment within the EU. Experts from various EU countries were introduced to methodologies and controls used in other member states, providing valuable input for modernizing audit practices for 2021-2027.
This is another step in strengthening cooperation between EU countries in the field of audit and control, which contributes to the effective and transparent use of EU funds for the development of regions and cities.
