CEUTP Training for Ukrainian Beneficiaries of the “EU–Ukraine Solidarity Lanes” Projects
On Friday, 20 September 2024, the Center for EU Transport Projects (CEUTP) organized a specialized online training for Ukrainian beneficiaries of projects carried out under the European Commission´s initative ‘EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes’.
This initiative was created in response to the growing transportation and logistics needs arising from the challenges related to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The projects coordinated by CEUTP focus on optimizing and modernizing border crossings between Poland and Ukraine. On the Ukrainian side, Ukrzaliznytsia and the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine (with its divisions in Lviv and Volhynia) are involved in the project implementation.
During the training led by CEUTP experts, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with key topics such as the reporting process, project accounting, cost eligibility, and the use of the European Commission’s EU Funding & Tenders Portal. The rules of auditing and control, as well as the requirements for beneficiaries’ compliance with the grant agreements, were also discussed. CEUTP experts touched on EU public procurement laws and provided guidelines for promotion and information activities in projects implemented under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). The training attracted significant interest, and participants had the opportunity to receive answers to important questions related to projects’ implementation.
The training was dedicated to representatives of partner organizations from Ukraine, forming Polish-Ukrainian consortia under the projects:
- EU-UA Solidarity Lanes-optimisation and modernisation of transport flows in terms of infrastructure capacity, interoperability and efficiency of the BC services at the main PL/UA rail border crossings – aimed at improving capacity, interoperability, and efficiency of infrastructure at railway border crossings,
- EU–Ukraine Solidarity Lanes. Optimisation and modernisation of transport flows in terms of infrastructure capacity, interoperability and efficiency of the services at the main PL/UA BCPs – focusing on increasing capacity, interoperability, and efficiency at road border crossings.
