CEUTP has signed an agreement for a new investment in Opole
The Centre for EU Transport Projects has signed an agreement for the financing of a project titled “Budowa infrastruktury na potrzeby rozwoju transportu publicznego w Opolu” (The construction of an infrastructure for the development of public transport in Opole). The project is implemented as a part of the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment (FEnIKS) 2021–2027 programme.
Why this project is so important?
The purpose of the investment is the improvement of public transport quality in Opole. With the new infrastructure:
- more people can benefit from public communication,
- there will be less road traffic within the city,
- exhaust emissions will drop – even by over 4,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year.
What will be developed?
- a new BRT bus route with a length of 1.88 km,
- a pedestrian and cyclists path along the route,
- two roundabouts,
- bridges and a viaduct over the Oder river and channels,
- new stops with bicycle sheds, as well as Bike & Ride type parking spaces,
- modern LED lighting,
- new greenery and environmental protection elements.
Cost and co-financing
- Total cost of the project: PLN 269.7 million
- EU funding: PLN 179.9 million
- >Level of co-financing: 82%
How long will the implementation take?
Construction works will be completed by 2029.

Expert Workshop on Dual-Use Projects and Transportation Resilience, Featuring CEUTP
On June 19, 2026, an expert workshop titled “Dual-Use Projects and Building the Resilience of the Railway System with the Support of European Funds” was held in Warsaw. Among those participating in the event was Sylwia Cieślak-Wilk, deputy director of CEUTP, who presented an institutional perspective on the role of dual-use infrastructure in the EU’s current and future financial frameworks.

Nearly 424.6 mln zł from European Funds for the modernization of the Ujście Nysy barrage
The Center for EU Transport Projects has signed two agreements with the State Water Management Authority “Wody Polskie” regarding the modernization of the Ujście Nysy weir on the Oder River. The projects, with a total value of over 538 mln zł, will receive nearly 424.6 mln zł in funding from the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, and Environment 2021–2027 program.

Via Carpatia Under Construction – CEUTP Experts Visit the Construction Site of the S19 Section North of Lublin
Experts from the CEUTP Department of Environmental Protection visited the construction site of a section of the S19 expressway north of Lublin, which is part of the international Via Carpatia route. The site visit provided an opportunity to assess the progress of the work and the challenges associated with the implementation of one of the most important road projects in eastern Poland.
