Digitalisation of railway infrastructure with EU funding of over PLN 157 million from the NRP
We have signed another contract with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., this time on Thursday, 14 December 2023, to support the fifth stage of the implementation of “Digitisation of the railway infrastructure through the installation of modern equipment and systems” as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (investment E2.1.1 Railway Lines).
The aim of the project is to improve rail and road safety by centralising and automating SRK equipment at railway stations, as well as within selected level crossings. This will reduce the degradation of the condition of the signalling equipment, which in turn will contribute to a long-term improvement in rail safety. What is even worth mentioning is that centralised control will also make it possible to reduce operating costs, as well as the maintenance and day-to-day running costs of buildings designed for traffic.
Overall, thanks to the implementation of the investment:
- 6 locations will be covered by remote control;
- a Dynamic Passenger Information System will be installed at 12 locations;
- 13 level crossings will be upgraded.
The eligible value of the project is PLN 157,021,227.13 and its implementation covers the period from 4 August 2023 to 30 June 2026.
