Nearly 10 expert missions in Azerbaijan already behind us

On 19-22 June 2023, another, this time remote, expert mission within the Twinning project took place in Azerbaijan. Experts from Poland and Lithuania worked together with representatives of the Beneficiary, among others, to create a report diagnosing gaps and creating recommendations for road safety legislation in the country.

In order to adopt a comprehensive approach to various aspects of road safety and transport, our experts held several meetings with representatives of relevant Azerbaijani institutions, such as the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Baku Transport Agency, and Azerbaijan International Road Carriers Association.

Among the topics discussed at the meetings were the use of electric and autonomous vehicles, vehicle maintenance systems, passenger and freight transport (including transport of dangerous goods), periodic technical inspections.

The project entitled. “Increasing Road Safety in Azerbaijan” is implemented by CUPT in cooperation with LTSA. It is scheduled to end in October 2024.
