Join us for a free workshop on “Empathy in Motion and Accessibility in Transportation”

Transportation accessibility is one of the most important social and economic challenges for Poland, as well as the European Union as a whole. European funds play an important role in this area. Thanks to these funds, we are building transportation that is not only modern and environmentally friendly, but above all, is intended to be accessible to everyone without exception.

The next opportunity to discuss, exchange good practices and talk about real needs and solutions will be on June 10 this year during the 15th meeting of the series AccessibilityLAB. Entitled. “Empathy in traffic and accessibility in transportation”. The organisers of the event are: CUPT, Bydgoszcz University of Technology, the Fire Academy and Accessible EU.

Meeting with experts

At the Warsaw Fire Academy, at 52/54 Słowackiego Street, we will work together with experts to consider what the city looks like from the perspective of different passengers? What does accessibility really mean in everyday movement? How to design spaces and services so that they are intuitive, safe and friendly to all? We have invited to the debate, among others, Małgorzata Tokarska from AccessibleEU, Dr. Agnieszka Fujak from the Bydgoszcz University of Technology/PESA Bydgoszcz and Maciej Augustyniak from Poland without Barriers.

Unique experimental workshop

An important part of the meeting will be experimental workshops. We have prepared two thematic tracks:

  • Track 1: Smartphone as travel assistant – apps for everyone, to be led by Dr. Krzysztof Dobosz ofAccessibleEU. The program will include practical tests of mobile applications for route planning, ticket purchase, with passenger information.
  • Track 2: Research walk – A day in the life of a passenger – step into someone else’s shoes – participants will be able to experience the city through the eyes of: a blind person, a parent with a stroller, an elderly person or a neuroatypical person. “Guides” on this journey will be experts from the Fire Academy: Brig. Gen. Dr. Barbara Szykuła-Piec and Brig. Gen. Klaudia Madej-Węgier.
