Another section of Via Carpatia received funding: PLN 788 million for S19 express road, section Boćki – Chlebczyn
Under the agreement signed on 21 November 2025, the construction of another section of the S19 express road is underway, connecting, among others, Białystok and Lublin. The funding covers design and construction works of two sections of the route: Boćki node (without the node) – Malewice and Malewice – Chlebczyn, on the border of Podlaskie and Mazowieckie Voivodships.
Safety and comfort of travels
Drivers can now use two lanes in each direction. The section covered by the financing has a total distance of 40.984 km. It includes 2 grade-separated junctions in Siemiatycze, motorway service areas, numerous engineering objects and access roads. The investment meets all of the newest requirements regarding, e.g., environmental protection.
The total value of the project equals PLN 1,464,896,209.38. The co-financing agreement from the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment programme cover PLN 787,600,446.84.
Construction on the S19 express road is in progress. Drivers should be able to use it next year.
Key connection
The S19 express road is of strategic significance – not only for eastern voivodships of Poland, but also for the entire Europe. It is another part of the Via Carpatia route: an international transport corridor, which will ultimately connect the Baltic States with ports located at the Black Sea. It is also a crucial component in terms of increasing mobility and improving safety in the region. It will also contribute to the economic growth of Podlaskie, Lubelskie and Mazowieckie Voivodships.
