The call for proposals for the installation of ETCS/GSM-R system has started – with allocation budget of PLN 150 million!
Modern railway means safe railway. Hence, if you meet the requirements, which you can find here, we encourage you to take part in the call for proposals under the “Montaż urządzeń ETCS/GSM-R” (Installation of ETCS/GSM-R system) action. Submitted projects may include:
- installation of on-board ETCS and GSM-R subsystems, as a whole,
- or just the ETCS system, if GSM-R is already installed.
Thanks to those investments, Polish railway is slowly becoming more and more interoperable and compliant with the European standards.
Who can apply?
Entities that can apply for funding are, among others:
- railroad carriers,
- rolling stock dispatchers,
- companies renting or leasing railway units equipped with a drive or control cabin.

What kind of funding can be granted?
- Maximum level of co-financing amounts to: 85% of eligible costs (VAT is not considered eligible).
- Total pool of financing: PLN 150,000,000 (subject to change during call for proposals).
How and when can I apply?
- Duration: 30 September – 30 November 2025 (until 11:59 PM).
- Format: solely in electronic format, via the WOD2021 app on the cst2021.gov.pl website.

More Road Projects Funded by European Funds
Two more projects by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways have received funding from the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, and Environment Program 2021–2027. These projects involve the construction of the Morawica and Wola Morawicka bypass along National Road DK73, as well as sections of the S19 expressway between Międzyrzec Podlaski and Lubartów Północ.

Expert Workshop on Dual-Use Projects and Transportation Resilience, Featuring CEUTP
On June 19, 2026, an expert workshop titled “Dual-Use Projects and Building the Resilience of the Railway System with the Support of European Funds” was held in Warsaw. Among those participating in the event was Sylwia Cieślak-Wilk, deputy director of CEUTP, who presented an institutional perspective on the role of dual-use infrastructure in the EU’s current and future financial frameworks.

Nearly 424.6 mln zł from European Funds for the modernization of the Ujście Nysy barrage
The Center for EU Transport Projects has signed two agreements with the State Water Management Authority “Wody Polskie” regarding the modernization of the Ujście Nysy weir on the Oder River. The projects, with a total value of over 538 mln zł, will receive nearly 424.6 mln zł in funding from the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, and Environment 2021–2027 program.
