EuroVillage in Lankaran: promoting road safety and celebrating the European community
An event organised by the Delegation of the European Commission called ‘EuroVillage’ was held in Lankaran (Azerbaijan) on 10 June this year.
It was attended, among others, by representatives of Azerbaijani institutions involved in the twinning project run by the CUPT and representatives of the Polish Embassy in Azerbaijan. Our stand and attractions for the participants of the event were gained high interest. Mr Peter Michalko, Ambassador of the European Union to Azerbaijan, Mr Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, and other officials visited the Polish tent, where Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Azerbaijan Rafał Poborski presented the twinning project called ‘Increasing road safety in Azerbaijan’.
The presence and interest of the participants in our project confirm the importance of the road safety. Their involvement is crucial to the success of any initiative to improve road safety in Azerbaijan.
The ‘EuroVillage’ event in Lankaran undoubtedly contributed to raising road safety awareness among citizens, while celebrating European culture and traditions.
