Uzhhorod 2025 – Together for Better Mobility in the Region
On November 5-6, 2025, the 7th Solidarity Lanes Steering Committee was held in Uzhhorod, Ukraine. The event brought together delegations from the European Commission (DG MOVE, DEFIS, EU DEL), the European Investment Bank, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary. The core of the Polish delegation was the Ministry of Infrastructure, with support from the Central European Transport and Investment Fund (CEPT): Director Sylwia Cieślak-Wilk and Experts Olga Zuchora and Anna Sowa-Kwiatkowska.
During the event, information was presented on the progress and challenges of initiatives undertaken by other countries, as well as on road and rail projects within Solidarity Lanes, which have been coordinated by the CEPT for almost two years. The CEUTP is the intermediary institution for the Connecting Europe Facility program in Poland, fulfilling this role under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Managing Authority – the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy. We play a key role in building the competences of Ukrainian institutions, supporting them in implementing their first EU projects and sharing their experience with cohesion policy. The CEUTP plays a key role in building the competences of Ukrainian institutions, supporting them in implementing their first EU projects and sharing their experience with cohesion policy. These activities enable better coordination of infrastructure investments on both sides of the border – technical and functional integration of planned terminals, tracks, and border crossings. Together, despite geopolitical and formal legal challenges, language barriers, and many other obstacles, we are strengthening relations between Poland and Ukraine, paving the way for new infrastructure projects in the region. We understand that such projects require flexibility, so we adapt our activities as needed. This allows us to respond quickly, jointly resolve problems, and keep work on track. Our goal is to build effective cooperation, support capacity building on the Ukrainian side, and achieve results that will bring value not only today but also in the future.
