Call for proposals from the NRP for inter-modal transport announced
We are announcing a competitive call for proposals under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan – this time for inter-modal transport (Component E, Investment: E2.1.3). The total amount for investment is almost PLN 781.6 million.
The aim of the competition is to select inter-modal transport projects involving road and rail terminals located on the TEN-T network and the purchase of up to 200 units of rolling stock for inter-modal transport. Projects should include:
- construction/reconstruction of inter-modal terminal infrastructure, including dedicated infrastructure;
- purchase/modernisation of equipment for inter-modal terminals;
- acquisition/improvement and implementation of IT systems for the operation of inter-modal terminals and telematic and satellite systems related to inter-modal transport;
- purchase of new/used and upgraded zero-emission rolling stock for inter-modal transport;
- acquisition of new zero-emission rolling stock for inter-modal transport.
The call for proposals allows for projects that integrate the types of investment listed.
The total amount earmarked for EU funding is PLN 781,598,808.
Who is eligible to apply?
- entities providing rolling stock for inter-modal transport;
- entrepreneurs from EU Member States who carry out or will carry out in the territory of the Republic of Poland economic activity in the field of inter-modal transport;
- entities managing the railway infrastructure providing direct access to the inter-modal terminals.
Applications are to be submitted between 16.05.2024 and 15.07.2024.

PKP Intercity is consistently modernizing its rolling stock thanks to funds from the NRP. On April 2 this year, the carrier presented the first of 50 COMBO passenger cars that will soon be put into service. This is an important stage of the CEUTP-supported project.

Lower Silesian railroad with KPO support for modernization
We have transferred over PLN 114.6 million from the National Plan for Reconstruction and Increasing Resilience for the revitalisation of sections of railroad lines 319, 326 and 341. In total, work will be carried out on more than 33 kilometres. The investment is part of a larger project to modernise railroads in Lower Silesia.
