CEUTP and Pomeranian University join forces to develop transportation and competencies for the future

We have entered into a cooperation agreement with the Pomeranian University of Science and Technology (PSW) to work together in the areas of research, education and development of the transportation sector, with a particular focus on projects co-financed by the European Union.

The signing ceremony, which took place on May 21, 2026, at the headquarters of the Center for EU Transport Projects in Warsaw, was attended by Joanna Lech, director of the Center, and Dr. Przemysław Ruchlewski, rector of the Pomeranian University in Starogard Gdański.

“What we care most about is people and knowledge. Thanks to cooperation with PSW, we can learn from each other, develop competencies and implement good solutions in transportation faster. This agreement is a step towards a wise partnership: the university brings background and fresh insights, and we bring experience from projects and real challenges,” said Joanna Lech, director of the Center for EU Transport Projects.

The partnership with PSW strengthens the capacity of both institutions to develop competence, innovation and knowledge exchange.

Cooperation includes:
  • Common research and thesis topics,
  • Promotion of results with respect for copyright,
  • Exchange of experience (including in the liberalization of rail transportation),
  • Training and educational events (subject to the rules of the PPL),
  • Support for graduate recruitment in accordance with CEUTP rules.
Under the agreement, PSW undertakes, among other things:
  • Support the development of CEUTP employees’ competencies through studies, postgraduate studies and courses,
  • Co-organization of training and educational events using the university’s facilities,
  • Involving CEUTP experts in academic life (open lectures, meetings, student initiatives),
  • Making available – with the permission of the authors – theses related to CEUTP topics,
  • Promote student internships and provide information on career opportunities,
  • Raising funds for joint research projects, including those funded by the EU,
  • Implementation of joint scientific ventures.

The role of the CEUTP

The Center for EU Transport Projects will be responsible in particular for:
  • Organization of student internships based on individual contracts,
  • Providing PSW students with thesis topics related to CEUTP activities,
  • Recruitment of university graduates according to the current needs of the institution,
  • Inviting PSW representatives to participate in events organized by CEUTP.

Joint investment in the future

The signed agreement is another step in building an open ecosystem of cooperation between public administration and academia. Thanks to the combination of expertise and educational potential, it will be possible to respond more effectively to the challenges facing the transport sector in Poland and better prepare human resources for its transformation.
The cooperation between CEUTP and PSW is an example of a partnership based on knowledge, dialogue and shared responsibility for the development of modern transport.
