PLN 700 million for buses and trolleys – a new competition by CEUTP
Funding can be awarded to projects concerning the purchase of a bus and trolley rolling stock. Eligible for co-financing will be the projects concerning the purchase of electric and fuel cell buses, as well as trolleys, including those with a self-driving function and battery-powered ones.
Entities that can apply for funding are:
- local government units, as well as their forms of cooperation (unions, associations, arrangements), including a metropolitan association;
- managers and operators of collective public transport.
The overall pool of funding within the competition equals PLN 700,000,000.00. The maximum permitted level of co-financing from the EU funds for project’s eligible costs is 85%, and a single applicant can only apply for financial support for the purchase of up to 20 vehicles.
We value accessibility – applicants who propose a purchase of an entirely low-floor rolling stock will be awarded additional points during the application assessment stage. We will also appreciate efforts into the development of Park&Ride infrastructure, bus lanes, transport hubs, and intelligent transport systems. Cities which already have bus and trolley systems, but lack tram networks, also have a higher chance of winning. Additional points can also be granted to projects with higher stage of advancement.
Where will the new vehicles head to? We will learn soon!
The call for proposals will start on 9 February 2026. Applications can be submitted until 30 April 2026. More information can be found in the competition tab.
