Enhanced safety, higher quality on the railways

The Centre has signed a contract that will help improve passenger safety and raise the quality standard of passenger service on the railway. The project was supported by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and the amount of support is as high as 100%. This means that the investment of PLN 102,187,227.10 will be fully financed by the NRP.

Improving information and monitoring

The project “Construction of the Dynamic Passenger Information System – Stage I” aims to improve the quality of passenger service by improving the transmission of information and monitoring at railway stations and stops. Works will be carried out at railway stations and passenger stops.

The project’s main objectives include:

  • the installation of a Dynamic Passenger Information System at 54 locations, which will enable faster and more up-to-date information to be provided to passengers.
  • the installation of a Video Surveillance System at 31 locations, which will increase security at railway stations and stops.

The project is divided into six tasks, each with its own unique objectives and areas of delivery:

  1. Task 1 – Design, supply and installation of equipment for the Central System of Dynamic Passenger Information on railway line No. 157 on the section Bieniowiec – Skoczów.
  2. Task 2 – Design, supply and installation of equipment for the Central System of Dynamic Passenger Information on railway line no. 190 on the section Skoczów – Cieszyn.
  3. Task 3 – Design, supply and installation of equipment for the Central System of Dynamic Passenger Information on railway line No. 191 on the section Goleszów – Wisła Głębce.
  4. Task 4 – Installation of SDIP equipment on the section IZ Olsztyn – Jamielnik on railway line LK 353.
  5. Task 5 – Design, supply and installation of CSDIP and SMW elements along with technical infrastructure at passenger stations and stops in the area of the Suburban Agglomeration Railway – PKA.
  6. Task 6 – Design and execution of construction works within LCS Rzeszów, which involves extending the control area of the existing LCS Rzeszów by 2 stations.

Dynamically derived passenger information and video monitoring are tools that will allow better management of rail traffic and provide passengers with up-to-date travel information. They will also undoubtedly help to make the railway more attractive to travellers by modernising it.
