NRP: we have settled the ‘bus’ competition
List of assessed projects under the completed competition No NRPD.09.05-IW.02-001/23 for Component E – Green, Smart Mobility Investment: E1.1.2 Zero and low carbon public transport (buses) National Recovery and Resilience Plan has received approval from the Investment Implementation Authority (IIA).
Who could be supported
As part of the competition conducted by the CEUTP, support could be given to projects concerning the purchase of zero-emission bus rolling stock (electric, hydrogen, plug-in hybrid) or low-emission bus rolling stock (powered by alternative fuels – CNG, LPG/LNG), together with the necessary charging/refuelling infrastructure or diesel-powered rolling stock (diesel, standard not lower than EURO VI), including HEV/MHEV hybrids, for:
- operation of newly created sub-urban bus routes;
- replacement of bus rolling stock on existing sub-urban bus routes threatened with closure (due to obsolete rolling stock and/or route deficits).
Potential applicants and call for proposals quota
The potential applicants (public transport organisers) were:
- districts,
- district associations,
- district/municipal associations,
- municipal associations.
The maximum level of support from the NRP for projects is between 80% and 95% of eligible expenditure.
Competition results
After analysing the submitted documentation, 26 projects out of the 36 submitted in the competition received a positive evaluation, for a total amount of support of PLN 285,837,674.97. The amount mentioned will support 207 sub-urban bus fleets, including 39 zero-emission vehicles.

New COMBO passenger cars on the tracks. How European funds are changing the Polish railroad and economy
PKP Intercity is consistently modernizing its rolling stock thanks to funds from the NRP. On April 2 this year, the carrier presented the first of 50 COMBO passenger cars that will soon be put into service. This is an important stage of the CEUTP-supported project.

Lower Silesian railroad with KPO support for modernization
We have transferred over PLN 114.6 million from the National Plan for Reconstruction and Increasing Resilience for the revitalisation of sections of railroad lines 319, 326 and 341. In total, work will be carried out on more than 33 kilometres. The investment is part of a larger project to modernise railroads in Lower Silesia.
