Over PLN 77 million of EU support for the development of the Dynamic Passenger Information System (Stage II) for PKP PLK S.A.

On Tuesday, 12 December 2023, we signed a funding contract for the second stage of the project “Installation of the Dynamic Passenger Information System” with PKP PLK S.A. as part of the National Reconstruction and Enhancement Plan (investment E2.1.1 Railway lines).

The aim of the project is to improve the safety of travellers and to raise the quality standard of passenger service, both in terms of form, content and operation of the devices implementing the information message to passengers. The investment includes the implementation of tasks such as:

  • construction of CSDIP and SMW on lines No. 219 (Szczytno – Ełk Towarowy section), No. 220 (Olsztyn Śródmieście – Olsztyn Gutkowo section) and No. 25 (Mielec – Dębica section);
  • design, supply and commissioning of CSDIP and SMW systems on lines: no. 140 (section Sumina – Nędza), no. 159 (section Żory – podg. Studzionka) and No. 148 (section Żory – Rybnik);
  • design, supply and commissioning of the CSDIP system on line 8 (section Sułkowice – Radom Gołębiów).

In total, the works will include the installation of the Dynamic Passenger Information System in 64 locations, including stations and 47 passenger stops, and the installation of the Video Surveillance System in 13 locations, including 9 stations and 4 passenger stops.

The investment will primarily be of benefit to travellers at railway stations and stops, as well as to transport organisers, entrepreneurs using the modernised transport infrastructure in terms of the dynamic passenger information system and rail traffic control.

The eligible value of the investment is PLN 77,400,000.00. The financial statements cover the period from 31 October 2023 to 31 March 2025.

Lower Silesian railroad with KPO support for modernization

We have transferred over PLN 114.6 million from the National Plan for Reconstruction and Increasing Resilience for the revitalisation of sections of railroad lines 319, 326 and 341. In total, work will be carried out on more than 33 kilometres. The investment is part of a larger project to modernise railroads in Lower Silesia.
